reasoning for threesome: I'll park mine next to a smaller one and she'll think I'm huge!

That's the wrong type of threesome.

Compared to a Mini, a Mini looks huge.

Hell a new Mini makes the Twingo look small. I parked next to a friends 2003 Cooper and there’s a big size difference.

Compared to a new Mini the Twingo is almost small. That said I’d have a Twingo over a new Mini any day.

A friend of mine has a 2003 Cooper and while it is actually quite a nice car, it isn’t for me. Less room inside than the Twingo yet quite a bit larger on the outside.

A friend had a 2007-8 Mini Cooper S with Chili Pack as a courtesy car for three months while the insurance haggled over what to do with her R reg Peugeot 306 diesel (one hell of a difference all round) which had been hit head on. While it was a rapid car it was awkward to get in and out of and generally felt ‘hemmed in’.

Bit of a perspective on that shot, but still.
The new Mini isn’t so mini, unless you mean it’s been snaking on Cadbury mini-eggs.
